The Beginnings
Tamawood commenced operations in July 1989 with four staff, five affiliated builders licensed to build Tamawood designs, and one sales consultant. The Company sold 80 homes in its first year.
In 33 years Tamawood has become the first to create architect-inspired and designed homes using a replicable, profitable, deliverable and marketable system. In doing this, the Company transformed an industry.
The Reach
Tamawood is a “systems company”, not simply a home building company.
In a similar manner to companies like McDonald’s, Flight Centre and Harvey Norman, Tamawood has entered a seemingly mature, fragmented industry, redefined and enhanced the value provided to customers, and has reconfigured the systems and processes by which that value is delivered ... efficiently and profitably.
Listing Success
Since listing, the Company’s impressive results internally and on the stock market, even in the 2001 post-GST-induced industry slump when the housing market dipped to a 20 year low, are ample evidence that its strategy of industry reinvention is working.
